Our place in the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB
Drive Lounge Racing has reached another major milestone in its competitive sim racing journey after securing entry into the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB, one of the most prestigious virtual championships in British motorsport.
The championship mirrors the real-world Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain, bringing together top sim racing talent to compete in identical virtual versions of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. The 2026 season features a 16-race calendar across iconic circuits including Donington Park, Snetterton, Oulton Park, Silverstone and Brands Hatch, with races broadcast online to a global audience.
For Drive Lounge Racing, entry into the series represents a significant step forward in the team’s growth from a community-driven sim racing initiative into a competitive esports outfit capable of competing at the highest level.
From Community Venue to Competitive Team
Founded as part of the Drive Lounge sim racing venues, the team was created to give talented drivers a pathway from grassroots sim racing to elite esports competition. By combining professional-grade simulators with coaching and community racing events, the organisation has quickly built a strong foundation for developing drivers.
Selection for the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB grid is no easy feat. Dozens of drivers take part in pre-qualification sessions to set their fastest lap times, with only the fastest competitors securing a place on the championship grid.
Representing Drive Lounge on the National Stage
Representing Drive Lounge Racing in the F4 championship, driver Kieran Harding has already shown strong pace during the season, delivering impressive performances .
Competing against some of the best sim racers in the country, Harding and the Drive Lounge team are aiming to establish themselves as consistent challengers throughout the championship.
A Growing Presence in Esports Motorsport
The entry into Porsche’s flagship UK esports series marks another step in Drive Lounge’s expanding presence in competitive sim racing. The organisation has already participated in other national esports championships and continues to build partnerships that support both performance and community engagement.
By combining its public racing venues with a professional esports team, Drive Lounge is creating a unique ecosystem where everyday visitors can experience the same racing technology used by competitive drivers.
Looking Ahead
With the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB season running from January through April and featuring weekly mid-week race events, the competition promises intense racing throughout the calendar.
For Drive Lounge Racing, the goal is simple: learn, compete, and continue proving that talent developed within a passionate racing community can take on the very best in esports motorsport.
And as the lights go out each race week, the Drive Lounge name will be right there on the grid.
